The Stone Hearth Grille at Bryce Canyon, in Tropic Utah

Upscale, fresh and unique dining experience

In 2000 the Stone Canyon Inn was started as a B&B. With its breathtaking location, the Inn quickly expanded and we built Cabins, Bungalows, Tree Houses and Deluxe King units to accommodate the many guests that found our property to be the perfect location to visit Bryce Canyon and the surrounding area.  We love people being able to stay with us and feel they are part of the beautiful outdoors while being pampered with outstanding accommodations.  Most of our accommodations are free standing, private and secluded.  It is common to see deer, foxes, rabbits and squirrels.  You may also hear coyotes.

The only thing missing was delicious, fresh, natural food; hence, another dream was born and the Stone Hearth Grille was created!

The Inn was built with post and beam and very high vaulted ceilings.  We have a large deck off the main room with a stream, waterfall and pond.  In the center of the main room is a beautiful stone fireplace.  It took no imagination to turn the Inn into a warm, inviting, upscale restaurant.

The Stone Hearth Grille has views in all directions.  From the outdoor seating under our pergola, our guests will watch a massive pink mountain turn every shade of pink and red as the sun sets at night. The waterfall brings sounds of nature and feelings of peace.

Our goal is to make your dinner a memorable experience.   Our staff is trained to attend to every need so each guest will feel pampered.  We have fresh, natural, hormone free beef, seafood and poultry.  Our sauces and desserts set us apart from our competitors

Enjoy spectacular views of pink mountains at sunset while steaks, fish, and chicken sizzle on the grille. All of our sauces are made from scratch. Relax and unwind after a day in the canyon with fine wine and memorable food. Open for dinner. We look forward to meeting you and hoping you will come to the Stone Hearth Grille in Tropic, Utah.

Outstanding!

This restaurant is about a 20 minute drive from Brice Canyon City where we were staying for our visit to the National Park. There is no where locally to compare with this restaurant as far as we can tell and this is reflected in its popularity – you must book ahead! The welcome was acceptable but from then on the service was top drawer. We were looked after by the owner Riley so not surprisingly he had the answer to any of our questions at his fingertips. I had the Shrimp & Crackers as starter – so simple but quite…

Gourmet food, beautiful view and great service in the middle of nowhere

We started with the bread/radishes and shared a large portion with our friends at the next table. The mixed greens salad reflected a home garden as the lettuce and berries appeared to be freshly picked. My husband had the braised Duck and Scallops, I had the New York Strip which I shared with him as well. All of it perfectly cooked. Dessert- Smores Panna Cotta- chocolate Panna Cotta on top of graham cracker crumbs with homemade roasted marshmallows on top- exceptional. Make reservations!

Great food

Great food near Bryce Canyon in Tropic, Utah. We took for starters the ravioli and the onion soup and it was very good. After that we took the filet and the pork chop and it was delicious. Great restaurant

Are you a foody? Do you stay in Bryce City? Have dinner at SHG

During our 2 weeks trip in the south west we booked a hotel in Bryce Canyon City. There was not one reasonable review on the food in this area, thats why we decided drive 15 min to Tropics. Fellow good food lovers….. copy our trip. It’s worth. Healthy, honest, and very good food!! Great winelist in an amazing setting… best dinner so far in the US

Family run business. Excellent customer service.

Truly gourmet!

We were a group of 6 who left the Stone Hearth Grille recently all singing its praises. The architecture of the building and its setting in the picturesque Utah landscape were just the prelude to a fabulous meal. Riley, the owner, and his two sons were our friendly servers for the evening. French onion soup, beet ravioli, brined pork chop, and the most tender beef filet we had ever had followed by lemon tart and chocolate mousse – all delicious and perfectly prepared. As it is a mile from the glare of lights Tropic’s Main Street, we even enjoyed the…
